Entered Politics in 1948;
Was an active Member of C.P.I. (M) and was imprisoned several times; detained for a period of 30 months under D.I.R. from November 1964 onwards;
Went underground for about 15 months and then arrested under M.I.S.A and imprisoned for about 10 months in Kannur Central Jail during the emergency;
Formed a new party, Communist Marxist Party (C.M.P) in 1986; Was President, A.K.G. Memorial Hospital, Kannur.
Currently holds following posts:

Was the Chief Promoter of Kerala Co-operative Hospital Complex at Pariyaram, Kannur, which established the Medical College at Pariyaram.
